Portugal

Everything happens for reason

I have spent 6 months in Porto as an Erasmus student which was one of my best decision in my life. BUT why did I apply for Erasmus? Why did I want to live far from my family and friends? Why did I choose a country what is situated on the other side of the world? So in one word why did I choose Porto?

Meeting in Porto

In my country Porto is not the main Erasmus destination for students, that’s why I haven’t met anybody, got any foods, newspapers, even heard people speaking in Hungarian. Sometimes I missed that I talk to somebody, watched the TV or hear a word in Hungarian. I felt it would warm my heart in this cold days. But I didn’t expect what happened one day. It was the beginning to create this blog. 🙂

The first impression

My first destination during my Portuguese trip was Lisbon. I slept 3 nights in Venie’s home(my Couchsurfing host). I got to know not only the sightseeings but a Portuguese family’s way of living, their daily routine and how they see the world. It was my first impression in Portugal with full of cultural shock.

Portuguese Easter

This was my second time when I can look into a Portuguese family’s life, which was nothing but the Easter. For me, Christmas and Easter are the most important holidays and I was really happy that I got the opportunity to celebrate it with an unknown Portuguese family this time and live through it from the other side. This was my second time when I can look into a Portuguese family’s life, which was nothing but the Easter. Let’s go to the party!!! BUT why???

My Erasmus experiences are consist of mainly positive adventures but also some negative ones. When I started to share my stories, I promised myself that I will share all the stories including the wrong ones. Now a kind of a wrong story is coming.
